5 Personal Development Tips Guaranteed To Increase Your Brilliance

You are both your greatest asset and your biggest liability.

From a personal development perspective the only limits we impose are our own self imposed limiting beliefs and constraints. It is never really about how good you are or how lucky we are but all about how good we want to be.
Personal transformation only comes when we can open up to a more expansive, unlimited vision of who we can become rather than defining our self by past achievements or current roles and status that we play in life.
Many self development programmes focus wholeheartedly on doing stuff without first defining who you want to be.
Success starts with having absolute clarity and focus of where we are going. As the saying goes if you don't know where you're going then any old road will do.
All this starts with getting a crystal clear vision of who you want to become rather than what you want to have.
Most people start the other way round chasing stuff that they believe will make them happy then ending up arriving and wondering why they don't feel good. Authentic success is not about what you do it's all about who you really are. It will only become clear when you begin to listen and follow your heart.
Your vision will become clear when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams, who looks inside, awakens.
Carl Jung
Your world is always a reflection of what you can see and of your own unique perspective of how you see the world.
When you find your vision life tends to get a whole lot easier, decisions become a lot clearer and easier to make and all your senses come alive. It provides the necessary energy, focus and momentum to activate the action required and the courage to fulfil your desires. An expansive vision brings adventure, discovery, break though and possibility once you learn to navigate the potholes.
Imagine yourself moving along one of those airport walkways and that's what having a clear vision of you feels like. It carries you further with less effort.
5. Personal development tips to help you clarify your vision.
1. Values
Take the time to take stock of what values are important to you and why because when we get clear on these they act as a guiding compass to activate where we invest our time and energy. We begin to focus on doing the right things rather than getting things right. It's the place of effectiveness rather than efficiency. Don't wait for the life defining moment to stop and reflect on this.
2. Create personal space
Most people fail to take enough time out on their own to devote energy and focus to identifying what they really want.Permanent busyness is merely a shield of avoidance and total self neglect that over time creates resentment, exhaustion and low self esteem. Getting to the core of who you really are is about getting rid of distractions and stuff that gets in the way of allowing you to step into your brilliance.
3. Define personal boundaries.
A particular problem for those that give of their talents, time and energy freely but over the long haul, if not managed appropriately, will lead to the loss of one's personal power and with it the confidence and assertiveness to say 'no'.
4. Nurture positive self talk.
Remember that you are the main character in your own life so consider what you tell yourself on a regular basis. Are your thoughts and words loving, encouraging and uplifting as well as positive or do you regularly beat yourself up for falling short and not being good enough?
5. Detach from fear, expectation and judgement.
A tricky aspect to personal development but attachments to outcomes keep us stuck and in this repetitive cycle and destructive pattern so we need to learn the art of getting clear on our desires, focusing our intentions then releasing any expectation. We do what we do because there is joy in it and anything else is a bonus. We all want to enjoy personal security but there is no certainty in life. The only thing we can be truly certain about is that change happens so learn to be the leader of your own vision of yourself and your life rather than handing the reins over to others.
Do yourself a favour, define your own personal vision then start moving in the direction of your dreams. Lose the victim tag and the excuses and begin to live life on your own terms. When you do you become a role model to others and give them permission to be utterly and completely themselves.
