Create the Life You Want Now: First Take Out the Garbage

To heck with mediocrity. Who said you can't color outside the lines? Who built a box for you and demanded that you stay within it? Who made the law that says you have to fit in with everybody else? Maybe it was someone you looked up to, or maybe it was you. No matter who it was, you can change it.
Life is too short not to live within the dimensions of your dreams. If you live in a square and want to live in a circle, you can do that. And you will, as long as you know that first, you're going to have to face the sight of your own blood, and then you must learn how to take out your own garbage.
Before starting, consider how much you really want this, because it's going to take a lot of work and commitment. Will you spend time chipping away at it every day? Will you commit to creating a new positive personal belief system from scratch? Will you be able to face your mistakes and shortcomings head on? Will you learn from it all with gratitude, and then move on without judgment of yourself or others? It's easy to remain where you are and wallow in the comfort, but rising above and elevating oneself takes guts. Do you have the courage?
If you answered yes, then get your Carhartt and mud boots on. This is a dirty job. Roll your sleeves up. Oh, and pay no attention to all the dust. You'll see what you need to see when it clears.
The First Step:
· *Walk with intention and open your front door. Tell Average to go take a long jump off the short porch. Sing, "Hit the road jack, and don't you come back no mo', no mo', no mo', no mo'". Surely you get my drift. You can't obtain your deepest desires if you're still holding onto anything that isn't what you really want. When you continue take up space with Average, there's no room for Amazing to appear.
· * Play detective, and find what's been sitting around stifled and growing mold. Remove every bit of it right now. You can't create new action by sustaining the life of anything that's been draining your passion from you.
· *Go over to your desk. Throw out the invitations you've been sending to 101 West Settling Street in Just Good Enough, USA 00000. The party's over for that zero, and it's over for you. Remove what has just been good enough, because it's just not good enough for you anymore.
· *Open all your closets and drawers. Meet your subconscious, also known as the dark. Within this part of your mind, you'll find the beliefs that are hidden from your every day thinking, but you'd be surprised at how much power they have over you. They were created by your past experiences, so in the present, most of these have become untrue. Again, more dead-weight taking up precious room. Room that you need to readily open up for the better things that are coming in their place.
Keep going until you're done-until all you have left is room. At this point you probably realize the first fundamental of creating the life you want is by getting rid of the one you don't. It's not easy, but if you really want it, you'll be able to do it. You are just that strong.
Possessing the courage to transform your life into the dimensions you've always wanted is something rather rare. This is why so many people remain unhappy. They're too afraid to do it. To them it seems like too much work, too much risk, too much--so they cease to even try.
Therefore, reward yourself for taking the first step. To heck with mediocrity. You are a brilliant, special kind of gem, my dear. Shine on.
In time, we'll re-visit this series and talk about step two. The work won't be easy, but it will create dynamic, new life dimensions for you.
